• Prof. Dr. Md. Setabur Rahman passed his MBBS from Rajshahi Medical College (RMC).
• He obtained his MS in General Surgery from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
• Prof. Dr. Setabur started his career as a Medical Officer and worked in different Medical Colleges & Hospitals in the country, then joined at National Institute of Cancer Research & Hospital (NICRH) where he gradually promoted as Assistant Professor Cum Residential Surgeon (RS) and Associate Professor & Head of the Department. Finally he served the Institution in the position of Professor & Head of the Dept. of Surgical Oncology.
• His field of interest consists of Breast Cancer Management, Gastro Intestinal (GI) & Pancreaticobiliary Cancer Management, Colorectal Surgery, Soft Tissue Sarcoma and General & Laparoscopic Surgery.
• Prof. Dr. Setabur performed many Professional Trainings in home and abroad, such as - Breast Cancer (Singapore). Advanced Laparoscopic Cancer Surgery (Singapore). Advanced Laparoscopic Gastric and Colorectal Cancer Surgery (India), Confocal Laser Endomicroscopy (France), Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (Singapore), Surgical Oncology and General Surgery.
• Also he actively participated in numbers of International Conferences namely - ESMO World Congress on Gastrointestinal Cancer 2023 at Barcelona, Spain, 3rd Indian Cancer Congress 2023 at Mumbai, India, International Gastric Cancer Congress 2023 at Yokohama, Japan, 17th Congress of Asia Pacific Federation of Coloproctology 2019 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 32nd NATCON IASO National Annual Conference 2018 at India, 2nd Indian Cancer Congress 2017 at Bengaluru, India, 40th National Conference of the Association of Colon Rectal Surgeons of India 2017 at Tamil Nadu, India and 36th Congress of the European Society of Surgical Oncology 2016 at Poland.
• Prof. Dr. Setabur has 9-publications that are published in different medical journals.
• Now Prof. Dr. Md. Setabur Rahman is working with Asgar Ali Hospital as Senior Consultant - Surgical Oncology & Laparoscopic Surgery and serving patients regularly.
