Dr. Samira Yasmeen Ahmed completed her MBBS from Mymensingh Medical College (MMC) and subsequently obtained MD (Internal Medicine Board Certified) from USA.
After completion of her Internship she traveled to USA and completed her MBA from San Francisco State University, California.
Later Dr. Samira worked at San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH) campus as a research associate under two Cardiologists helping them in their Medical Research. One of her research- works was published in a Medical Journal named ‘Circulation’.
After passing three separate exams she became ‘Certified Educational Commission for foreign Medical Graduate (ECFMG)’ which is a requirement for applying for Residency.
Dr. Samira completed 3-year Residency-training in ‘Internal Medicine’ in an UCSF affiliated county Hospital at Oakland California that focuses on medical-care for undeserved population of the area and became ‘California Medical Board Certified’.
In the residency program she had to run a team of 4-6 interns and medical students, directly communicate with the Consultant, teach her fellow team-mates, present Case Studies, attend CME meeting, seeing patients at Primary Clinic, Specialty Clinic, especially Diabetes & Heart Failure Clinic. Upon completing her Residency she became ‘Internal Medicine Board Certified’.
Dr. Samira worked at ‘Kaiser Permanente Medical Group’ at San Francisco which is one of the largest HMO group in USA, then joined ‘San Mateo County Clinic’, California and focused on underserved and immigrant population.
She has returned to Bangladesh end of 2015 with a passion to serve the Country with quality medical care and joined Asgar Ali Hospital as Consultant – Internal Medicine to treat patients regularly.
Besides her out-patient Consultation, Dr. Samira Yasmeen Ahmed also oversees in-patient and executive-screening-consultation.
