Preventive Oral Cholera Vaccine Campaign at Asgar Ali Hospital

Asgar Ali Hospital is participating in a Government-led free Preventive Oral Cholera Vaccine (pOCV) campaign, providing eligible individuals with access to the oral cholera vaccine at no cost. The campaign will run from 22 August to 7 September 2026.

As part of this nationwide public health initiative, Asgar Ali Hospital is facilitating vaccination services to help strengthen protection against cholera and promote greater awareness of preventive healthcare practices.

Under the campaign, individuals aged 1 year and above can receive the vaccine from Asgar Ali Hospital. The initiative is particularly important for increasing community-level protection against cholera, a water- and food-borne disease that can cause severe dehydration and become life-threatening if not treated promptly.

The vaccination program is being conducted by trained healthcare personnel, with appropriate procedures followed throughout the vaccination process. Participants visiting the hospital can complete the necessary registration and receive the vaccine as part of the government’s free vaccination campaign.

The initiative also highlights the importance of preventive healthcare in reducing the risk of infectious diseases. Alongside vaccination, maintaining safe drinking water, proper sanitation, regular handwashing, and hygienic food practices remain essential measures for preventing cholera and other waterborne illnesses.

Asgar Ali Hospital encourages eligible individuals and families to take advantage of this free government vaccination campaign during the scheduled period from 22 August through 7 September 2026. Community participation can play an important role in strengthening collective protection and supporting the government’s efforts to prevent the spread of cholera.

Through its participation in this campaign, Asgar Ali Hospital continues to support public health initiatives and make essential preventive healthcare services more accessible to the community.
